Prodibio Spots and Velvets Salt
Spots and Velvets Salt intended only for the treatment of ornamental fish with the so-called spots diseases and velvets diseases, mainly caused by Ichthyophthirius, Oodinium ocellatum, Cryptobia, Cryptocarion, and secondary bacterial infections caused indirectly by these protists. Symptoms
Visible symptoms are small spots, granular lesions or fluffy layers of pale grey. They appear on the gills, fins and may extend to the whole body. Infected fish fins retract and try to remove the parasites by rubbing against the scenery. Those whose gills are very affected have an abnormally high respiratory activity, become apathetic and lose weight quickly.
At the end of the treatment period, the use of BioDigest allows the regeneration of the biological filtration. BioDigest is made up of natural nitrifying, nitrate reducing and facultative bacterial strains selected for their ability to convert ammonia into nitrites, nitrites into nitrates and nitrates into nitrogen. These bacteria work together with each strain finishing off the work started by the others. Some are capable of biosynthesising nitrate reducing enzymes in aerobic conditions. This enables water to be effectively purified, nitrates and phosphates to be reduced and prevents the spread of filamentous algae. By probiotic effect and food competition, they also fight against the proliferation of pathogens and reduce the risk of unexplained illnesses.
Treatment:
Aquarium 60 to 100L
Day 1 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A
Day 2 – Do not feed the fish, add vial B
Day 3 – Feed the fish, no treatment
Day 4 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A
Day 5 – Do not feed the fish, add vial B
Day 6 – Feed the fish, no treatment
Day 7 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A
Day 8 – Feed the fish, no treatment
Day 9 – Water changes 50%, Feed the fish, no treatment, add vial of BioDigest
Aquarium 101 to 180L
Day 1 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A and B together
Day 2 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A
Day 3 – Feed the fish, no treatment
Day 4 – Do not feed the fish, add vial A and B together

Note: for aquariums with volumes of water greater than those indicated above, simply multiply the dosages.
