Description
Cryptocoryne Pink Flamingo
The Cryptocoryne Flamingo Pink tissue culture plant is a truly unique and mesmerizing addition to any aquarium. With ruffled leaves and pink coloration, this plant will add a pop of colour and intrigue to your aquatic oasis.
It is a pretty easy plant to keep once it gets established in an aquarium. When grown under optimum conditions with high light and CO2, this plant can develop an intense pink coloration. New leaves tend to have a blood red colour initially which naturally lighten up into a pinkish tint over time.
Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. This means you can enjoy strong and healthy plants free from pests and diseases from the start.
Cryptocoryne Pink Flamingo is a cultivar of Cryptocoryne wendtii. Full sized adult plant leaves are around 10cm long, which makes it great for mid/foreground placement. The leaves are distinctively pink which makes it hard to match in many aquascapes. It does stand out in most aquascapes and works well as tonal contrast to clusters of red plants. This is a slow growing plant that is relatively undemanding. Pink Flamingo grows faster, more stable with moderate and above GH levels (4-5dGH and above) even though it can be grown in very soft water as well.
Success Factors:
- Sufficient light (medium onwards) to get good coloration
- Avoid extreme water parameters
- Slightly higher GH values work better (4-5dGH and above)
- Long term stability (probably the hardest aspect)
- Fertilization/CO2 levels need not be high but needs to be consistent
