The Metal Halide Lamp-250w 15000k is designed to provide the correct spectrum of light without the use of actinic supplemental lighting. This lamp alone creates a crisp blue colour similar to medium depths on the coral reefs. There are two factors that are important when choosing a lamp for use over a marine aquarium.
- The light output has to be beneficial to the health of the livestock. This is particularly important in aquariums with corals, anemones and clams. The output must promote photosynthesis by the microscopic algae which live within the livestock tissue.
- The lamp must provide an effect which is visually pleasing to the eye of the fish keeper
