APT Feast Aquasoil has been developed over the past few years by The 2HR Aquarist to create the perfect environment for lush, healthy plant growth. There is less supplementation in the form of fertilisers or root tabs required than competitors in the first year. This means that you can get away with dosing the water column with a leaner fertiliser leading to easier algae management.
The granules remain intact longer to ensure stable plant anchoring for continuous access to the most essential macronutrient and consistent delivery. It naturally softens water, helping to maintain a stable pH, which is ideal for most planted aquariums and sensitive aquatic species.

Follow these steps to add APT Feast and set your aquarium up for long-term success:
Step 1 (Dark Start – 2 weeks):
- Add APT Feast, Hardscape and Water.
- Filter on, lights off. Add Starter bacteria and/or detritus from matured tank.
- Bonus: Raise temperature to 29C/84F. This will speed up the cycling.
Step 2 (Hardy Plants First):
- Dark Start completed? Perform 100% water change and add hardy plants.
- Begin water fertilization: Dose APT liquid fertilisers from Day 1 after planting.
- Avoid delicate plants until 2 weeks later.
Step 3 (80% Weekly):
- Perform 80% water change every week, for another 2 weeks after initial planting.
- Introduce slow growers, delicates, tissue culture plants and fish/ shrimp after that.
