Aquarium Tonic Salt
Most effective as a general tonic on stress reduction. Effective treatment for many External Parasites such as Costia, Chilodonella, Trichodina etc. Can be used in conjunction with most aquarium remedies to improve recovery from diseases. Safe to use with “ALL” medications. Only add more salt to the aquarium after water changes.
Dosage:
- Disease prevention – add 1 rounded tablespoon (20g) per 20L to the aquarium
- Disease treatment – add 1 rounded tablespoon (20g) per 12L to the aquarium
- Brine Shrimp Hatching – add 2 rounded tablespoon (40g) per 1L of water

How Does Aquarium Salt Work?
Salt essentially causes death by dehydration. By raising the salinity of the aquarium water, water is sucked out of the bacteria, fungus, or parasite as osmosis seeks to balance the salt concentration on each side of its membrane or skin. These tiny microorganisms dehydrate faster than the fish (because the fish has more mass and stored water), and therefore the pathogens end up dying before their hosts do. However, some microorganisms can withstand higher salinity, which is why salt is not a 100% bulletproof solution.
